Customer Restoration

A full restoration was undertaken to correct and refine work previously completed by prior owners. The truck lacked proper insulation and sound deadening, and the engine bay required extensive restoration. Mechanical issues included leaking header gaskets, rough engine performance, an excessively rich-running condition, and low engine vacuum, all of which required further diagnosis and correction.
A complete Tune up was needed, all hoses and belts replaced, all electrical tape was cut out and wiring was exposed so proper repairs could be done to the existing electrical wiring. The complete front Mustang II suspension was upgraded and power steering was added.
Currently "Rowdy" is a patina truck with a clear coating planned in the near future to protect and retain the aged look of the truck. The future is wide open for a full repaint.
Installed new header gaskets and header bolts to correct exhaust leaks. Replaced and rerouted the heater hoses away from the valve covers for improved clearance and protection. Installed a new speedometer cable and throttle cable, along with new pre- and post-fuel-pump filters to improve fuel system reliability and serviceability.
Rewired the engine sending units, removed old non-operational wiring, and replaced unsealed electrical connectors with weather-resistant connections. Cleaned up and properly secured the under-dash wiring, completed the steering column electrical connections, and diagnosed and repaired the non-operational rear brake lights. Installed new speedometer and temperature gauges to provide accurate and reliable vehicle monitoring.
Completed a full upgrade of the Mustang II front suspension and power steering system, including tubular upper and lower control arms, QA1 coilovers, tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, rotors, and calipers. The existing lower control arm geometry was incorrect, contributing to poor ride quality and drivability. The suspension geometry and ride height were corrected and properly adjusted to provide improved handling, ride comfort, and overall drivability.
Completed a full interior heat and sound-deadening treatment to improve cabin comfort and reduce road noise. Fabricated and installed a custom seat base with an upgraded seat featuring integrated seat belts. Installed the headliner, rear cab panel, kick panels, sun visors, and a new rear window gasket. New speedometer and temperature gauges were also installed.
All firewall openings and penetrations were properly closed and sealed to minimize heat, noise, and outside air intrusion into the cab. New door felts, window runners, door gaskets, and bumpers were installed to improve window operation, sealing, and overall fit and finish. These improvements reduced cabin noise by approximately half and eliminated heat transfer through the firewall, resulting in a significantly quieter, more comfortable driving experience.
Fabricated and installed a custom seat base to properly accommodate the upgraded seating. Adapted and installed a Mustang radiator fan shroud to improve airflow and cooling efficiency. Fabricated custom body supports for the front fenders to improve structural support, alignment, and overall fit.
All requested work was completed, along with a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle. A list of recommended future upgrades was also provided to help guide additional improvements and enhancements.
